The Royal Family, while picture-perfect, have their own family problems as well. While to the world they are the epitome of grace and culture, as a family, just like other families, they have their own internal issues as well.
Coming to brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, they have immense love and admiration for one another. However, that is not all that is needed at times.
As the world knows, soon after getting married to Hollywood actress Meghan Markle, Prince Harry gave up his Royal Highness titles.
Furthermore, Prince Harry is set to release a book in 2023, Spare, which is a memoir. Reportedly, this is a concern for The Royal Family, and how it may impact the members. Royal Expert Simon Heffer revealed:
"The Prince of Wales [Prince William] is reported to be appalled at his brother's general behaviour, and that the book is going to appear at all.”
When the book is released, if released at all, there may not be any room left for reconciliation between the princes.
The ‘Royal Rift’ between the brothers started back in 2018 when the Duke of Sussex reportedly told his brother he wasn’t doing enough to make Meghan Markle feel like a part of the family.
After King Charles intervened, Prince William and Kate invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to spend Christmas with them.
Furthermore, things took a turn for the worse when William told his younger brother to take time and not rush his relationship with Meghan Markle, and Harry saw it as William trying to wreck the relationship. This started the feud between the brothers, and things have never been the same between them.
It seems every time there was hope of reconciliation, something went wrong between the brothers.
For example, while William and Kate were very happy about Harry becoming a father, and could have been the beginning of their healing, Harry’s decision to leave The Royal Family became the thorn.
Now, when William and Harry’s relationship was improving after he stepped back from his duties, it was negatively impacted by Harry’s decision to leave England.
Furthermore, certain decisions by both brothers such as Harry deciding to sign a multi million dollars deal with Netflix or William taking a royal photograph that excluded Harry continued to become reasons why the brothers did not reunite.
Finally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah in 2021 acted like the final coffin in breaking all trust between the brothers.
At the time of writing this, the last time the brothers were witnessed together was the funeral. Even then, they acted as one unit but also remained distant.
It’s unlikely their relationship will improve if Prince Harry’s memoir hits the shelves in 2023.
